Welcome to Hatzic Middle School

Dear Students,

Welcome to Hatzic Middle School!  We are pleased to welcome our returning Grade 8 and Grade 9 students and a special welcome to all our new students who are joining Hatzic Middle School. We are looking forward to a busy, active year with approximately 780 enrolled students.  As we begin the year, we encourage students to embrace the new opportunities that await while actively participating in our Hatzic school community. We believe in the importance of our students becoming involved in the culture of the school, joining clubs and teams, making new friends and being challenged by their educational program.

It is a privilege to work with the staff and students of Hatzic Middle School and we are looking forward to continuing our strong partnership with our parent community.  We are very fortunate to work with a wonderful Parent Advisory Committee, who continue to support the needs of all our students.

Hatzic has H.E.A.R.T.  One of the most important things you can do to ensure success at Hatzic is to follow the principles of H.E.A.R.T. by having Honesty, giving Effort, having a great Attitude, and Respecting others while developing Teamwork skills.  Our goal is to provide you with a safe, caring and orderly learning environment where you will have opportunities to excel. The rest is up to you.

Our website:  hms.mpsd.ca contains email links to the administrative team, the latest news and upcoming events at H.M.S.  You can also download our app called My School Day which will have school information and will provide regular notifications regarding school events, deadlines and general information.

The staff at Hatzic Middle School is here to help you be the best that you can be. We look forward to supporting you in your learning this year.  Have a wonderful year!

Dear Parents/Guardians

Should you have any concerns about your child's school experience, please contact our staff immediately. The usual protocol for questions and concerns is to contact the classroom teacher first, then school administration, and if necessary, then the school board office. For urgent matters, please contact your child's counsellor and/or one of the administrators. We look forward to meeting and working with you to help your child have the best possible experience and achievement this year.
