Information for Grade 7 Families:
Dear Families of our future Hatzic Middle Crusaders,
We would like to welcome all of our future Grade 7 students to Hatzic Middle School in September. This year we are having a Welcome to Hatzic first week of school and are requesting that grade 7 students not bring school supplies for the first two days of school. On Wednesday, September 8th, the students will be assigned a locker and will be able to place their supplies away. While we are not sending out a specific school supply, the students will need to bring the usual school supplies. Teachers will be sending out course syllabus’ to the students and, if there is anything specifically needed for the class, the item(s) will be listed.
One tool that our current families have found very helpful is the Hatzic Middle School app for smart phones. This app outlines the class schedule, notifications and updates from the school as well as quick access to the website, school contacts and news. Please see our website for information on downloading this app.
Wishing everyone a wonderful summer,
Principal, Hatzic Middle School
Report cards will be available Thursday, June 30. If someone other than the legal guardian is to pick it up (grandparent, the student, etc.), please call the office staff to let us know.
Nova Allaire and Sam White and with their mural. The girls designed and painted the mural for the courtyard, featuring the word welcome in English and Halq'eméylem.
HATZIC MIDDLE AWARDS NIGHT
Last night, June 13th, many of our students were recognized for their excellence in academics and athletic programs at HMS. There were over 600 guests in attendance! A special thank you to Mr. Vos and his team for organizing such an amazing event that recognized students who work resiliently!
COPS FOR CANCER
Hatzic Middle raised a whopping $2,400 for the Cops for Cancer program this Spring! Great job Hatzic - way to show care and compassion for your community!
Trinity Western Omada Team Building Field Trip
What an amazing field trip for Hatzic student’s grades 8-9. Leaders from all areas of the school (Weight room Club, Yearbook, Environmental Club, Leadership, Peer Tutors, and Peer Mediators) were invited to participate on the High Ropes Course and the Omada Team Building workshop at Trinity Western University. This activity helped to foster trust, teamwork and communications amongst the participants. What a great day sponsored by our Fund it Forward Program.

Please take note of the parking pass only area. We have noticed an increase in traffic to the flag pole area. This area is for families with assigned parking passes. We appreciate your support in reducing the traffic congestion to increase student safety while dropping off and picking up at the school. Thank you.
As shared at the PAC meeting, only vehicles with parking permits are permitted to stop and wait at the roundabout (front office).
We are excited to announce that this year at Hatzic Middle we are offering an agenda app for the school community!
The app is available for iOS, Android, and RIM. Go on to the appropriate app store and search 'Hatzic Middle School' to find the app and download at no cost. Please find the instructions here.
