HMS Environmental Club earns 'Adopt-a-Block' sign for keeping the local area near the school litter free!  Fantastic effort!

HMS Environmental Club has always worked diligently at keeping our school litter free. Last year we decided to extend this to keeping streets near HMS litter free. As a result of our efforts, we have been given a sign from MESS ( Mission Environmental Stewardship Society ). It is located near HMS for all to read and acknowledge our efforts. The Environmental students volunteer to complete this work in their own free time, outside of class time. We are one of only 2 schools in Mission School District that are part of Adopt-a-Block Program.

The Environmental Club at HMS is lead by Ms. O'Grady and Ms. Valerie.

Cops for Cancer 2025–2026

Cops for Cancer.jpg

September 18th, 2025 , Hatzic Middle School proudly participated in the annual Cops for Cancer fundraising event. Students, staff, and the community came together in an inspiring show of teamwork and generosity.

The event included activities, fundraising challenges, and opportunities to connect with local first responders who dedicate their time to this important cause. Thanks to the incredible effort of our HMS community, we raised both awareness and valuable funds to support pediatric cancer research and programs that help children and families in need.

Events like this remind us that when we work together, we can make a real difference. A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who contributed their energy, donations, and school spirit to making this year’s Cops for Cancer a success!
